Lyondell Contributes to
Elementary Science Education
LEAGUE CITY, Texas — Through a generous $2,000 donation from Lyondell Chemical, fifth grade students in Clear Creek ISD will benefit from the Youth Educational Support Services (YESS) organization’s BaySmart program.
The program provides educational and mentoring services to at-risk students at Armand Bayou, Bay, Brookwood, Clear Lake City, Falcon Pass, North Pointe, Robinson, Ward, Whitcomb and Ed White Elementary Schools.
BaySmart uses a “floating classroom” to deliver lessons about the environment, science, geography, economics, chemistry and other courses. Among the many objectives of the program, students learn about the need to protect, preserve and properly use natural resources and the diverse job opportunities available along the Ship Channel.
