Clear Creek ISD TAKS Scores Reason to Celebrate

Clear Creek ISD recently received the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) results from the Texas Education Agency.  On average, Clear Creek ISD students scored well above the state averages.

“We are very proud of our students,” said Dr. Sandra Mossman, “It is thrilling to see such exciting test results this first year. Without the combined efforts of the teachers, the parents, and the community working together for the success of the children, results like this would not be possible, especially in the first year of the tests.”

Clear Creek ISD’s TAKS grade level averages compared to the state overall grade level averages are as follows:

TAKS (pronounced “tacks”) replaced the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills (TAAS).  TAKS covers more subject areas and more grades than the previous TAAS tests.  The new exam requires students to do more analysis and use higher order thinking skills. There are three performance categories on the new test: Commended Performance, which recognizes high level performance; Met the Standard, which means the student passed the test; and Did Not Meet the Standard, which means the student failed the test. Copies of the TAKS tests and answer sheets are located on the Texas Education Agency website at
