PARENT EDUCATION PROGRAM SLATED FOR APRIL 19
League City -- In the Clear Creek Independent School District students are encouraged to make good choices. It is no secret that children today are faced with many pressures which extend beyond deciding a four-year academic track and choosing the right college.
The Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families (BAAYF) and the Clear Lake High School PTSA are sponsoring a parent education program on helping children successfully overcome the pressure to use drugs and alcohol, and to help parents recognize symptoms of stress, depression and burnout. “While drug and alcohol use is a wider national concern, CCISD is pleased that a recent survey shows such usage is down in our community,” said BAAYF manager Amanda McLauchlin. “The Alliance and the District are also aware we can all do more to help students make great choices in life.”
