New Gifted and Talented Program at League City Intermediate in Great Hands
Veteran WAVE Teacher Named Program Liaison
League City, Texas- Catherine Holliday, a veteran teacher at the Webster Academy-Visions in Education (WAVE) at Westbrook Intermediate, has been selected to serve as facilitator of WAVE at League City Intermediate. Holliday has played in integral role in the growth and success of the magnet for the gifted and talented since 1999. “Expanding WAVE offers us a unique opportunity to grow this extraordinary, G/T magnet school. I am thrilled and privileged to be joining League City Intermediate’s staff as their WAVE liaison and look forward to building the WAVE of the future,” said Catherine Holliday, WAVE Liaison. Holliday will transition to WAVE at League City Intermediate March 19, 2012.
Holliday’s extensive experience in teaching students identified as gifted and talented and her student-centered approach to leadership will be instrumental in launching a second WAVE magnet at League City Intermediate. “League City Intermediate is excited to have Catherine onboard. I cannot think of a better person to spearhead and nurture our new program,” said Kim Brouillard, League City Intermediate Principal. “Her tenure in WAVE and her passion for students are invaluable assets when it comes to ensuring both programs meet our highest expectations.” Holliday will work closely with Stephanie Cooper, WAVE liaison at Westbrook Intermediate.
Holliday participates in more than 30 hours of annual gifted and talented education training and is also involved in writing the District’s Gifted and Talented curriculum. Holliday is a member of the Texas Association of Gifted and Talented and the National Association of Gifted.
