This course is part of the Transportation, Distribution and Logistics Cluster for Achieve Texas. Introduction to Transportation is the foundation course in a coherent sequence that will lead to Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) a nationally recognized certification in the
Automotive Industry.

This course will satisfy PE graduation requirements.
This is a foundation course that covers Engine Performance, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Suspension/Steering, and Brakes, and offers students theory and hands-on training to develop technical skills needed in the ever-increasing complex automotive field. Students will receive training in safety, in the use of technical manuals and computer diagnostic programs, and in the use of tools and equipment. Students will receive preparation for the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exam in these four areas which will get them ready for an associate degree program and employment.

This is a continuation of Automotive Technology I and emphasis is placed on Suspension/Steering and Engine Performance. Students will be introduced to theory and hands-on training to develop technical skills needed in the ever-increasing complex automotive field. Students will receive training in safety, in the use of technical manuals and computer diagnostic programs, and in the use of tools and equipment. Students will receive instruction for the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) exam in Engine Performance, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Suspension/Steering, and Brakes which will prepare them for an associate degree program and employment.

This is an activity-based course designed to explore the use of computers in the communication; construction; energy, power, and transportation; and manufacturing fields. Activities may include, but are not limited to, computer numerical control, computer-aided design and drafting; telecommunications; desktop publishing; 3-D design and animation; and development of multimedia presentations.
