This course introduces general manual accounting concepts, principles, and procedures; emphasizes the need for financial records; provides the fundamental equation and its application to accounting procedures, including the basic steps of the accounting cycle. The course develops the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for individuals to conduct personal business or to pursue further education in the field of accounting. The course utilizes completion of practice sets or simulations, uses calculators, and processes some data electronically.

This course provides for review and further development of fundamental accounting principles with extensive use of technology. Topics in this course include formation and dissolution of partnerships, organization and ownership, adjustments of bad debts, depreciation, depletion of fixed assets, adjusted and accrued income, inventory control, preparation of business budgets, and notes receivable and payable. Accounting II is designed for students interested in continuing at the postsecondary
level or entering the workforce.

Skills learned in the Microsoft Office Professional Edition software provide a good foundation for higher education courses and entry into the business world.
