The purpose of the Foundation is to:
- Generate and channel resources for the advancement of teaching objectives.
- Enrich and enhance student academic achievement in CCISD.
- Provide resources not available through tax revenue for educational enrichment opportunities.
- Focus on activities that encourage, facilitate, recognize and reward creative and well-designed instructional approaches to learning.
- Serve as a conduit for student and faculty scholarships.
- Enhance communication between CCISD and the community.
One of the focal points of the Foundation is the Teacher Innovative Grant Program, teacher-initiated activities that facilitate, recognize and reward creative and well-designed instructional approaches to learning.
Teacher Innovative Grants are available to CCISD teachers through the Foundation. Approx. $275,000 have been awarded in grants over the past 12 years. The Foundation does not extend funds to the areas of athletics, art, recreation or musical activities, but emphasizes academic subjects, or core curriculum areas.
These grants enable teachers to bring more innovation and creativity to the classroom and have revitalized and increased enthusiasm in the teachers. The Foundation grants are another way to make teachers feel appreciated and part of the community they serve. Knowing that dollars for their projects have been made possible through community contributions is an enormous morale booster.
The Clear Creek Education Foundation, by enhancing the educational experiences of our young people, contributes greatly to the Clear Lake Area community as well. The opportunity to enhance the academic subjects produces students who enjoy learning, feel better about themselves and are more apt to contribute to the community and world in which they live.
The Foundation develops ongoing activities and projects that involve the entire community of staff, families, businesses and organizations to build a broad base of funding and support. Contributions include funds derived from planned giving, endowment gifts, matched giving and restricted or allocated gifts, as well as in-kind gifts. Funds provided by the Foundation directly benefit students in the Clear Creek Independent School District. |
