Why drug testing? Drug testing is conducted as a way to promote accountability among our peers. CLEAR members want to be able to show the community the results of positive peer pressure and the choice to engage in a chemical free lifestyle.
What are the testing Procedures? Students must be in intermediate or high school and have parental consent to participate in initial and random drug tests. Drug testing will consist of a simple urinalysis. Testing will be conducted by Forward Edge. The student will be notified to go to the testing location and provide a urine sample onsite. A number will be issued to that students and that number will be places on the sample bottle.
The sample will then be taken for testing by a Medical Review Officer (MRO) at the Forward Edge, Inc. Laboratory at 1209 Genoa Red Bluff, Pasadena, TX 77054. Dr. Wayne Keller is the MRO who will be reviewing any non-negative results and contacting parents. A follow up contact will be made to parents from the designated student support counselor.
