Welcome to the Clear Creek Independent School Student Teachers Site

Student teaching is one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of your life. Of course, you already know this or you would not be researching student teaching. Well, you have certainly come to the right place. Simply click on the links to the left and explore what Clear Creek ISD has to offer you as a student teacher.

Clear Creek ISD welcomes student teachers from university programs throughout the United States.  We provide quality supervision to help student teachers to develop a strong foundation in best teaching practices. Clear Creek ISD has a placement rate exceeding 90% for our student teachers.

Observation and Field Experience Requests All programs who are requesting students to come and observe a classroom must fill out a Request for Observation Form or a Request for Field Experience Form no later than April 11, 2008 for spring semester requests. All observers must have a criminal background check before we allow them in our schools for the safety of our students and staff. The background check form will be sent after we receive the request. Please give two weeks for the background check process before scheduling the date of the observation or field experience. For more information, contact Dr. Rose Salinas at rsalinas@ccisd.net or (281)284-0165.

Why Clear Creek Independent School District?

Service and Support
Our student teaching program provides supportive cooperative teachers and a strong mentoring program. Seminars are conducted on topics that help student teachers perform at their optimum: classroom management, parent conferences, community awareness, and interviewing techniques. Out-of-state student teachers are also given an overview of our Texas Assessment of Knowledge Skills (TAKS Test).
Teaching Environments
Because of Clear Creek ISD's size, we can provide a teaching situation geared to fit individual student teacher requests, while following the guidelines and requirements of your university. We believe that student teaching in our district will prepare you for teaching in a classroom of your own.
Diversity

Clear Creek ISD is a highly educated and diverse community committed to excellence in education, ensuring all students graduate ready to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world with the desire to be life-long learners.

Our district serves more than 35,500 students and is averaging 1,000 to 1,400 new students each school year. Clear Creek ISD offers an excellent education for all of our students.

Metropolitan Area

The thriving Clear Lake area offers a family-oriented community located in the suburbs surrounding the NASA/Johnson Space Center. Many residents of the area commute to businesses in the Houston-Galveston metropolitan area.
