Celebrate Life! Live Drug Free!
What is CLEAR?

CLEAN LIVING ENCOURAGEMENT AND RESPONSIBILITY

CLEAR is a group of students who stand for Clean Living Encouragement and Responsibility through promoting a chemical-free lifestyle and the awareness of the effects of drugs and alcohol on ourselves and others.

CCISD youth have developed an active anti-drug and alcohol program in our community. CLEAR members choose to be part of the solution, not the problem.

Who can join?

Membership is open to all CCISD youth, in 6th -12th grade, who are committed to a drug free community and positive peer pressure. The only requirement is parental consent.

 CLEAR is…
  • A voluntary positive peer group
  • A group of youth committed to communication, life and leadership
  • A group of youth committed to strive for a drug free community

CLEAR is not…

  • A substitute for needed abuse counseling
  • A rehabilitation program
  • A means to cause dissension among youth or be a negative force at any time

Benefits of CLEAR

  • Invitations to chemical-free events
  • Opportunities to do service for the community (give presentations, create projects, etc.)
  • Opportunities to attend events with local community leaders who are committed to creating a drug-free community
  • Membership in an organization of like-minded youth committed to a healthy lifestyle.

CLEAR Program Drug Testing

Why drug testing?

Drug testing is conducted as a way to promote accountability among our peers. CLEAR members want to be able to show the community the results of positive peer pressure and the choice to engage in a chemical free lifestyle.

What are the testing Procedures?

Students must be in intermediate or high school and have parental consent to participate in initial and random drug tests. Drug testing will consist of a simple urinalysis. Testing will be conducted at the school by Forward Edge, Inc. The student will be notified to go to the testing location and provide a urine sample onsite. A number will be issued to that student and that number will be placed on the sample bottle. The sample will then be taken for testing by a Medical Review Officer (MRO) at the Forward Edge, Inc. Laboratory at 1209 Genoa Red Bluff, Pasadena, TX 77054. Dr. Wayne Keller is the MRO who will be reviewing any non-negative results and contacting parents. A follow up contact will be made to parents from the designated student support counselor. The following is contact information for Dr. Keller at Forward Edge:

  • Phone: 713-920-1335
  • Fax: 713-980-0258

Drug Test Results

In accordance with Clear Creek ISD Policy FNF (LOCAL); If a student tests positive for drugs, he or she may be referred to a student support counselor. No disciplinary consequences will result from a positive drug test obtained through the CLEAR program. The results of any test conducted in connection with the program are confidential and will be disclosed only to the student and parent(s). The results of any test conducted in connection with CLEAR are confidential and will be disclosed by Forward Edge, Inc. only to the designated student support counselor, the student and the parent(s).
