Clear Horizons ECHS
Curriculum
Students enrolled in the Clear Horizons
ECHS will be working toward the completion
of both a high school diploma and an Associate's
degree in a declared major of choice. The ECHS
does not offer as many high school courses,
particularly in the electives, as the comprehensive
high schools. Students will also follow a sequence
of courses that may be different from that of
the comprehensive high schools.
Differentiated Learning Plans
Each student will have a Differentiated Learning
Plan (DLP) that will outline the courses needed
for graduation from high school and progress
toward the Associate's degree. The DLP will
outline which high school credits will be achieved
through Dual Credit coursework. Following are
two examples of the coursework that may be taken
by an ECHS student. These examples include coursework
required under the new 4x4 plan (four years
of math and science) and for the Distinguished
Achievement Plan (DAP) diploma (three years
of Languages Other Than English (LOTE)).
Example1 : DAP and AA in Business
Example 2 : DAP and AS in Biotechnology
