Intermediate school is a time when students have an opportunity to try different things and find out where their passions lie. They can join the band, choir, or become involved with one of the many other interest-based organizations. Many of our sixth grade students are worried about the routine of going to a new school instead of enjoying the new experiences available to them. Because we want our students to continue receiving the best education they can and still have fun, here are the top ten questions sixth graders fret over and some practical advice for addressing each one with your child.

Please know that the majority of sixth grade teachers have elementary certifications and all intermediate teachers nurture and support their students.  The key to the transitioning process is for students to know that all they have to do is ask for help.
