Against the backdrop of the new Challenger Columbia Stadium, Clear Creek ISD paid tribute to a generous Bay Area community deeply invested in its students and teachers. At the 2016 Volunteer and Partnership Breakfast, themed 'Community Adds Color to the Classroom', Norman Frede Chevrolet was named the Community Partner of the Year; Wendy Glaze of Brookwood Elementary was presented with the Elementary Volunteer of the Year award; and Angela Owen of Clear View High School was named the Secondary Volunteer of the Year.
Clear Creek ISD has great teachers. Two of those outstanding educators were honored at the 2016 Rotary International / Clear Creek ISD Teacher of the Year celebration. Kristi Roney is a 5th grade teacher at Falcon Pass Elementary School and was named the CCISD Elementary Teacher of the Year. Math teacher Dale Jensen from Clear View High School was named the CCISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Spin the globe and pick a country. You may find an expert in one of Steve Wilson's students. The Victory Lakes Intermediate School teacher is teaching his students to teach each other about different countries and cultures with a little help from the Clear Creek Education Foundation. His Innovative Teacher grant helped him purchase world geography and population density maps along with world currency identification charts. His students use their laptops to research their individual country and then choose how to pass that knowledge along to the classmates.
In the Clear Creek Independent School District, our mission is to prepare students to compete and succeed in the ever-changing 21st century. This mission requires us to look at education through a child's eyes today, and recognize the power technology will have on their life now, tomorrow and decades to come. The Latitude 2 Learn initiative is designed to harness that power to provide students unmatched opportunities to access the world effectively and responsibly.
